Calendar Rationale:
- Each of the following assessments is planned and timed in order to meet one or multiple of the following purposes:
- Provide teachers with actionable data to help them meet the particular needs of each student
- Meet state and charter contract requirements
- Share our scope and sequence of assessments with all stakeholders (families, staff, MDE, board, etc.)

Option for K-3 Literacy FAST:
- December 7 – December 18th: Laura goes into zoom classes and students are sent to breakout rooms. About one class per 2 hour section; 1st grade with two times (CBM-R and Decodable).
- Joanna S. could do in person during these two weeks
- Kylie and Jenna doing their own kids they see
- For students with IEP’s, Joanna S. will connect with Jenny and Maddie to come on to Zoom (or in person) to do the CBM during literacy.
- Train co-teachers to do it. Lead teachers lose their co-teacher while co-teacher does it. Less reliable if more people are giving the test.
Options for 4-8 Literacy FAST:
- Joe takes the sample test (hard to cheat).
- During Kaylena and Michelle’s block, they proctor with several breakout rooms. Michelle, Francisco and Joe proctor 3 small groups. Kalyena, Joe and Francisco to do it on another day with 5-6.
- 4th grade: Jane O and Zach on a Wednesday to proctor with the teacher (Ashley, Jane O and Zach one Wednesday) and then the next Wednesday Mandy, Jane O and Zach. 4th grade tests one day the full two hour block (no math on that day).
- Special Education teachers who push-in will proctor in a small group
Note: 4th grade has iPads and the live video feed goes off when they go to a different app
Questions for iReady diagnostic:
- Share screen? Wouldn’t work for co-teacher to click for them if they need to drag manipulatives.
- Could it happen during live session in K-4?
Description:
I did want to add that 4th grade may want to do the FAST CBM-R in the middle & end of the year to have a grade-level oral fluency assessment. We only discussed it briefly today and are going to check in about it further next week. Kylie sees about half of the 4th graders, so she would be able to test a big portion of the grade. Hanaan and Linda would also be very capable of doing the test if trained.
What if for the youngest students we have lots of support staff go on during a live session and divide the group of 12 in four groups (Lead teacher, co-teacher, and two other staff)?
