On December 18-22nd, NECP had its first Spirit Week to celebrate the school and our wonderful students. Each day students and staff dressed up for the theme of the day. The themes for the week were:
Monday = Pajama Day
Tuesday = Sports Day
Wednesday = Wacky Day
Thursday = Character Day
Friday = Class Color Day
NECP is now an authorized I.B. School!
Northeast College Prep received their authorization status! We are now an official Primary Years Programme International Baccalaureate school. This is a rigorous process that took over three years to complete. We are proud to be part of a community of schools around the world that are committed to inquiry-based education and community action!
NECP Library is Now Open!
The NECP library opened in December for students after moving locations from last year. Each class has an assigned time to visit the library and check out some books. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help with the library. We are getting closer and closer to having all of the books barcoded. We appreciate all of your help!

Our school is fortunate to have so many generous individuals that volunteer their time with us. Thank you to all of the Reading Partners volunteers who come and read with our students each week. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered on field trips during the month of December. We appreciate all of you!

Are you available this Thursday, January 11th?
We are looking for two field trip chaperones to join the 4th grade class on a “Kindness Retreat” through Youth Frontiers. This all day retreat focuses on building character and school community. As a volunteer chaperone, you will be working with a small group of students during different activities throughout the day. Chaperones will meet at the South Minneapolis location at 7:45 a.m. and be finished at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The day is packed full of fun!
