  • PURPOSE:

    The purpose of this policy is to maintain a safe and healthful environment in the charter school in order to promote the physical, social, and psychological well-being of its students. To that end, the charter school will seek a criminal history background check for applicants who receive an offer of employment with the charter school and on all individuals, except enrolled student volunteers, who are offered the opportunity to provide athletic coaching services or other extracurricular academic coaching services to the charter school, regardless of whether any compensation is paid, or such other background checks as provided by this policy. The charter school may also elect to do background checks of other volunteers, independent contractors, and student employees in the charter school.

The school district prohibits any form of religious, racial, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation or sexual harassment and violence.

  • Purpose:

    The school board recognizes that chemical use and abuse constitutes a grave threat to the physical and mental well-being of students and employees and significantly impedes the learning process. Chemical use and abuse also create significant problems for society in general. The school board believes that the public school has a role in education, intervention, and prevention of chemical use and abuse. The purpose of this policy is to assist the charter school in its goal to prevent chemical use and abuse by providing procedures for education and intervention.The purpose of this policy is to maintain a safe and healthful environment for employees and students by prohibiting the use of alcohol, toxic substances and controlled substances without a physician's prescription.

  • Purpose:

    Public concern that students and staff of the school district be able to attend the schools of the district without becoming infected with serious communicable or infectious diseases, including, but not limited to, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis, requires that the school board adopt measures effectively responding to health concerns while respecting the rights of all students, employees, and contractors, including those who are so infected. The purpose of this policy is to adopt such measures.
